  • Laguna Beach has an incredible variety of photography locations, from sandy beaches and dramatic cliffs to coastal overlooks and landscaped parks. Some of my favorite locations include Treasure Island Beach, Emerald Bay, Table Rock Beach, Heisler Park, Victoria Beach, and the coastline surrounding Montage Laguna Beach. The best location really depends on the look you love, accessibility, tides, crowds, and the time of year.   • Golden hour, typically the hour before sunset, is one of my favorite times to photograph in Laguna Beach. The light becomes softer and warmer as the sun gets lower over the coast, which is beautiful for proposals, engagement photos, and family sessions. Exact timing varies throughout the year, so I’ll recommend a start time based on the season, location, and type of session.

  • They definitely can be, especially during summer, weekends, and holidays. Having photographed throughout Laguna Beach for years, I take crowds, tides, parking, beach access, and sunset timing into consideration when recommending locations. There are also locations and approaches that can create a more intimate feel even during busier times.

  • Discretion is a huge part of photographing surprise proposals. Before the proposal, we’ll coordinate the exact location, timing, where you’ll stand, and how I’ll position myself. I’ll already be in place when you arrive and photograph the moment discreetly from a distance, so your partner has no reason to know I’m there until after they say yes.

  • Yes! You don’t need to have everything figured out before contacting me.   • Yes. I photograph candid, relaxed engagement sessions throughout Laguna Beach and Orange County. I’ll help with location, timing, and what to expect so the session feels natural rather than overly posed.   • Once they say yes and you’ve had a moment to celebrate, I’ll introduce myself and we’ll transition into engagement portraits. This is one of my favorite parts because the excitement is completely genuine! We’ll capture a mix of candid moments and lightly guided portraits so you leave with photographs of both the proposal itself and everything that follows.

  • Proposal photography captures the actual surprise proposal as it happens, followed by portraits of you together afterward. An engagement session is planned in advance with both partners and is typically a more relaxed portrait session celebrating your engagement. Many couples also book a separate engagement session later for save-the-dates, wedding websites, or simply more time and variety together.

  • As soon as you know your approximate proposal date, I recommend reaching out. Popular weekends, holidays, and sunset times can book in advance, while weekday proposals may offer more flexibility and fewer crowds. If you're planning something on shorter notice, feel free to reach out as availability sometimes opens up.

  • Sunset and golden hour are especially beautiful for proposals in Laguna Beach because of the softer light and coastal scenery. However, the best time depends on the location, season, tides, crowds, and how private you want the proposal to feel. I’ll recommend the timing based on your specific location rather than using the same start time for every proposal.

  • Choose clothing that feels like you and that you’re comfortable moving around in. Neutral and complementary colors photograph beautifully along the Laguna Beach coastline, but you don’t need to avoid color altogether.   • Golden hour, typically the hour before sunset, is one of the most beautiful times for family photos in Laguna Beach. The softer light is flattering and creates the warm, natural look you see throughout my portfolio. For families with young children, I also consider nap schedules, bedtime, season, and location when recommending a session time.

  • I recommend coordinating rather than perfectly matching. Neutral tones, soft colors, texture, and subtle patterns photograph beautifully along the Laguna Beach coastline, but your clothing should still feel like your family. Once you're booked, I’m happy to help with outfit ideas so everything photographs cohesively without looking overly styled.

  • That’s completely normal and part of photographing real families! I don’t expect young children to sit still, smile at the camera, or follow directions for an entire session. My approach is relaxed and candid, allowing kids to move, play, explore, and interact with you so we can capture genuine expressions and connection along with the more traditional family portraits.

  • Yes! I offer a limited number of fall and holiday mini sessions each year in Laguna Beach and select Orange County locations. These shorter sessions are perfect for updated family portraits, holiday cards, and families who only need a smaller collection of images.

  • Fall and holiday mini sessions begin booking in September each year, with a limited number of dates and time slots available on select weekdays. Fall is one of the busiest seasons for family photography, so I recommend booking early if you'd like a mini session for holiday cards or updated family photos.

  • Mini sessions are shorter and offered on select weekdays, dates, and locations, making them a great option for quick family updates and holiday cards. A full family session offers more time, flexibility, candid moments, and variety. Full sessions are typically the better choice for young children who may need extra time, larger families, or anyone wanting a more relaxed storytelling experience.

  • Your finished photographs are delivered through a private online gallery where you can view, download, share, and order professional prints and products. Your contract will include the delivery timeframe for your specific session or event.
