There is something truly magical about a surprise proposal overlooking the Pacific Ocean, especially when it takes place at one of Southern California's most iconic coastal resorts.
Tom planned the perfect proposal during a getaway to Laguna Beach with his soon-to-be fiancée. Traveling from New York, the couple was staying at the beautiful Montage Laguna Beach, a luxury oceanfront resort known for its breathtaking coastal views, world-class service, and direct access to one of Laguna Beach's most scenic stretches of coastline.
As the sun began to dip toward the horizon, golden light poured across the cliffs and ocean below. With the Pacific sparkling in the background, Tom got down on one knee and asked the question that would change their lives forever.

After the proposal, we made our way down to Treasure Island Beach for engagement portraits.
Located directly below Montage Laguna Beach, Treasure Island Beach is one of my favorite locations for engagement and proposal photography in Orange County. The beach offers beautiful rock formations, tide pools, soft sand, and panoramic ocean views that create endless opportunities for natural, romantic portraits.
The timing could not have been more perfect. The sun cast a warm golden glow across the coastline while the waves rolled gently onto shore.
With the excitement of the proposal still fresh, Tom and his fiancée were completely present with one another. Those moments immediately after a proposal are often some of my favorites to photograph because the emotions are genuine, unfiltered, and impossible to recreate.
